1st Time Passing & Moving Exchange
1st Time Passing & Moving Exchange is a fast paced Pass & Move drill that requires great concentration by your players for it flow and work properly.
Ideally, you want the passes to all be played 1st time, but at the start allow 2 touches where needed as they get the feel for it.
It’s quite straightforward with a mixture of short and long passes and quick movements.
1st Time Passing & Moving Exchange – How it works
Player 1 passes to the feet of Player 2 at the front of the box, who returns the ball straight back.
Then Player 1 then passes diagonally to the feet of Player 3. At the same time, Player 2 moves out of the box and joins the back of the queue to the left.
Now Player 1 follows the pass and Player 3 passes back into the path of Player 1 and Player 3 then moves into Player 2’s position.
Finally Player 1 passes long to Player 4 then moves to Player 3 position.
Player 4 starts the process again from the other side

1st Time Passing & Moving Exchange – Coaching Points
The key to this drill is that all players are ready to go from the start.
This means players need to be on their toes, ready to react if the pass isn’t straight to them. Being flat footed and static will kill this drills.
To Scale it up, you can alter the distances between the passes. Either make them shorter and sharper, or increase the distances to create more accuracy over distance.
You can also change the size of the box to give players a small target to hit.
