Pass Move Finish

This Finishing circuit comes with Pass Move Finish – Variation II Each one increasing in detail and complexity as you go.

Start with Variation I and once your players have mastered it, move on to the next.

Different types of passing and movements are used in each.

Pass Move Finish – Variation I

Pass Move Finish – Variation I is a combination of simple passes and back foot control.

Each player passes to the next and then takes their position afterwards.

Both sides are in play at the same time with a staggered 20 second gap between them so they are not shooting at the same time

Pass Move Finish – Variation I – How it Works

Set your 8 cones out as per the black markers in the image above. Place a player on each cone.

Player 1 passes to Player 2 and follows the ball.

Player 2 controls with their back foot around the cone to open up play and set up a pass to Player 3.

Player 3 controls with their back foot and sets up a long switch pass to Player 4 and then makes a run the other side of the mannequin.

Player 4 controls and lays the ball off into the path of the on running Player 3 who hits a first time shot.

Player 3 moves into Player 4’s position and Player 4 joins the back of the opposite queue.

Pass Move Finish – Variation II

Pass Move Finish – Variation II ups the number of passes and brings in a 3rd player runner to complete each section.

There is more pressure on the pass being accurate and of good quality and the player receiving the ball being on their toes and knowing where to play it back too.

Awareness of each part of this drill is key for it to flow

Pass Move Finish – Variation II – How it works

Same layout of cones and positions as Variation I.

Player 1 passes to Player 2. Player 2 returns the pass into the path of Player 1 then spins around the back of cone and runs towards Player 3.

Player 1 passes to Player 3

Player 3 lays the ball off into the path of Player 2 then turns and runs toward goal.

Player 2 sends a long pass to Player 4 who controls and passes into the Path of Player 3 who hits a first time shot at Goal.

Player 3 moves to Player 4’s position. Player 4 joins the back of opposite queue.

Pass Move Finish – Variation III

Pass Move Finish – Variation III is the most complex and has the most amount of passes.

Because of this, the space begins to shrink quickly so the focus really has to be on the quality of the passes.

THEY MUST BE ON POINT. If they are not, players will get too close to each other and passes will become a none event and the whole drill grinds to a stop.

When this one works well, its fantastic and a great achievement for both players and Coaches in pulling it off. The players in particular will really enjoy it.

Pass Move Finish – Variation III – How it Works

Same layout of cones and positions as Variation I.

Player 1 passes to Player 2. Player 2 lays the ball back into the path of Player 1 then nips round the back of the cone to receive the return from Player 1.

Player 2 then passes to the feet of Player 3, who then returns the ball in Player 2’s path before darting around the back of the cone to pick up the return pass.

Player 3 then plays a long pass to Player 4 and moves into position for the return pass and set for the shot.

Player 4 controls and rolls the ball across into the path of Player 3 who finishes first time.

Pass Move Finish – All the Variations in Video

All three variations of this drill are in the video, which will make it easier to understand and follow. Especially the part about staggering each side starting so they don’t get on top of each other.
