The Listening Game – Communication Skills
The Listening Game is a great little game to start off your session and to get your players to pay attention.
This is for your Young ones (U5-U7) prepping to go into 5v5 Football
It’s very simple and you can mix it up and have a lot of fun with it.
Mark out two sets of cones, 1 set of Red, 1 set of Green.
Have the players line up in the middle.
The Listening Game – How it works
If the coach shouts out Red or holds out a Red cone, players must run to the red side.
If the coach shouts out Green or holds out a Green cone, players must run to the red side.
Sounds simple enough, right ?
Some simple misdirection thrown into the mix can really cause confusion and catch them out.
For example, holding a Red cone out but holding it in the direction of the Green cones.
Calling Green but pointing towards Red
Calling any other colour and seeing if they flinch, and any other way you can think to distract them from the task.
